Notes on Psalm 112

Through Christ, somehow, God mercifully liberates us so that we can trust in Him, surrender to Him, walk faithfully in His way, and be blessed. He strengthens us to resist temptation and thereby escape destruction.

God mercifully grants us the knowledge that opposing Him leads inevitably to utter destruction so that we can fear, surrender to, and faithfully obey Him.

The man who understands this loves the commands of God regardless of the cost of obeying them because he knows that they are the path of life, peace, abundance, wisdom, power, and love. He understands that the commands of God are the way of absolute victory over death.

The output of such a man will be brilliant and strong because it will be in harmony with reality.
